Zhao Xiaoyin is a widely recognized Chinese picture book illustrator and book designer. She currently serves as Art Director at Shanghai Juvenile & Children’s Publishing House.

Her works have received numerous awards. Among them, Mr. Bear’s Birthday was awarded the IBBY “Little Squirrel Award”, an honor initiated by Matsui Tadashi, a founding figure of modern Japanese picture books. To date, only eight artists in China have received this award.
