Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Yihan Hong is a photographer. She holds a bachelor degree in photography from the renowned Parsons School of Design, and a graduate degree in cinema studies from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.

Through portraiture photography, her artistic practice mainly focuses on themes of spirituality, religion, and the border between the real and unreal. She is particularly interested in creating various spaces from actual everyday life and subjects. Being influenced by the subconscious world and mythology, she continues exploring these fields with multiple techniques, and the themes of dreams are often seen in her works.
